10 fully-funded PhD positions are available in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Network “TOAST” (Touch-enabled Tactile Internet Training Network and Open Source Testbed).
TOAST bringing together world-class researchers from academia and industry with expertise in haptics, teleoperation, haptic communication, wireless communication and networking, edge computing, machine learning and human perception.
The 10 TOAST Doctoral Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary and international network that includes:

Benefits
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Program offers a highly competitive and attractive salary and working conditions. Each fellowship includes the following:
- All TOAST fellows will be enrolled in PhD doctoral programs and tuition fees are free of charge during the contracted period of 36 months.
- ~3400 €/month gross living allowance. Note that this amount varies depending on the country of residence and depends on country-specific correction coefficients. This amount is subject to local taxes, social security deductions, etc.
- The host organisation will appoint the candidate under an employment contract.
- The host organisation will ensure that the researcher is covered under the social security scheme that is applied to employers within the respective country, or under a social security scheme that provides coverage for at least sickness and maternity benefits, invalidity and accidents at work and occupational diseases, and covers the researcher in every place at which Marie Skłodowska-Curie DN activities will take place. The exact conditions will differ per country.
- To cover personal household, relocation and travel expenses, 600€/month gross will be paid to each candidate. This amount is also subject to local taxes, social security deductions etc.
- When applicable, family allowance may also be provided in the amount of 660€/month. This amount is subject to local taxes, social security deductions etc. Other possible allowances include long-term leave and special needs and more information can be provided when it is requested.
- TOAST will offer an international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectorial training programme that promotes scientific excellence and exploits the expertise and infrastructure present in the consortium. In addition to their individual scientific projects, all the fellows will benefit from TOAST's Training Programme including international secondments, a variety of training modules as well as transferable skills training.
