Kemitraan Negara Berkembang Scholarship, popularly known as KNB Scholarship, is a financial assistance offered by the Indonesian Government to prospective international students coming from developing countries to pursue their master’s degree in one of Indonesian universities. The scholarship was conceived in the 10th Conference of Heads of States of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries, 1st–6th September 1992. The Government of Republic of Indonesia began to offerthe scholarship to potential students from NAM member countriesinthe following year.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

• To contribute in the human resource development in the developing countries;
• To promote deeper cultural understanding between developing countries;
• To strengthen the relationship and cooperation between developing countries.

STUDY PROGRAMS

The scholarship is offered to potential students from the developing Countries to get their Degree (Bachelor, Master and Doctorate) in wide range of field of study (please be advised that the study program offered is differs between university).

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

1. Indonesian Language Training Program

A one academic year Indonesian Language (Bahasa) course is a compulsory for all KNB students as all courses required to complete the academic program (lecture and thesis) will be conducted in Bahasa. The Bahasa coursewill be provided by eachUniversity.

2. Preparatory Program

Preparatory program prior to the academic program will be arranged inaccordancewith the university’s policy andprogram planning.

3. Academic Program

• The maximum length ofscholarship disbursement: a. 6 semesters for Doctorate Degree program. There are two schemes of doctorate degree offered under the scholarship: Doctorate program by Research and Doctorate program by a combination of coursework and research. An extension of maximum 2 semester can be granted on case-by-case assessment on the candidates individual specific case.
• 4 semesters for Master Degree program.
• 8 semesters for Bachelor Degree program. In order to successfully complete the program, it isimportant for all KNB awardees to consistently produce a good academic performance by developing a can do attitude, stay focus, as well as being punctual, and discipline.

Please be advised that the KNB Scholarship is calculated to support the KNB Student costs only. There is no provision for dependents. KNB Students are advised not to bring dependents to Indonesia. The KNB Scholarship provides no financial or pastoral support for dependants and will not endorse the visa applications of, nor provide travel for, dependants. * Note: Other expenses beside mentioned above items will be considered as personal expenses and will be borne by the students.

HOW TO APPLY

All application process conducted online through the KNB Scholarship website. Please be advised that soliciting is prohibited. Application Procedures:

• Download the Invitation Letter from the KNBScholarshipwebsite;
• Submit the Invitation letter, Passport, Academic Certificates and Academic Transcripts to the Indonesian Embassy or Indonesian Consulate to acquire the recommendation letter;
• Complete theonline application process;
• Selection process;
• The Selection Results will be broadcasted online through the KNB Scholarship Website and officially announced through the Indonesian Embassy publication network;

During the application process, please pay close attention to some Important information below:

• We strongly suggest you to collect as many information as possible on the universities and your desired study program. Please be advised that once you are admitted, changing either the universities or your studyprogramisstrictlyprohibited.
• The recommendation letter from Indonesian Embassy is mandatory. The recommendation letter will be issued based on verification and necessary background and/or security checks conducted by the Indonesian Embassy. In case of no Indonesian official representative in your country, you need to obtain the letter from any Indonesian Embassy accredited to your country.
• All the required documents have to be written or officially translated In English.
• The participants from English speaking country are not automatically excluded from the requirement to attach the written prove of their English proficiency.
• The universities will be conducting the selection process that should include (if necessary) online interviewwiththe potential candidates.

SCHEDULE 

1. The online application process must be completed no later than February 18th, 2023.
2. The selectionresultwillbe announced onthe 1 st weekofJune 2023.
3. The confirmation deadline is onJuly 23rd, 2023.
4. The new KNB awardees are expected to arrive in Jakarta on second week July, 2023.
