The Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists (REYES) virtual STEM-H learning experience aims to increase science literacy, inspire and train the next generation of engineers and scientists. We also help increase diversity in STEM fields by lowering barriers of entry for all, including students from underrepresented backgrounds. To date, more than 11,000 learners in 135 countries have registered for REYES. The program includes:

  • Virtual learning experience  - Join free live lectures, panels, and activities in a variety of STEM subjects, aimed at high school and college students. Join as many as you wish!
  • Virtual mentoring program - Selected applicants will be paired with researchers or faculty members from across the globe to work on a research project, remotely. The project will take place over 4-8 weeks, starting on June 26. Depending on the project, participants are expected to meet at least once a week with the mentor.

Where can you explore the latest research and innovation in science and engineering and be mentored by experts while you participate in a research project virtually this summer?

Register today for the Remote Experience for Young Engineers and Scientists (REYES) virtual STEM program, which will be held from June 26 to August 18, 2023.

REYES is organized by a team of volunteers committed to opening access to STEM for aspiring scientists around the world, making this program open and free to anyone interested in exploring science. To date, more than 11,000 students from 135 countries have registered for our program.

We are excited to announce that we are collaborating with the University of California, Berkeley to host our virtual program this year!

I see that the Physics Berkeley department is hosting REYES, does this means that REYES is only for those interested in Physics?

No. REYES is meant for individuals interested in all Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Health (STEM-H) fields. The Berkeley Physics department is just providing the support for this program.

I registered for REYES, how will I know when events are taking place?

We will be e-mailing you regularly with reminders about events as they come up.
