UTP Engineering Short Courses
The UTP Engineering Short Courses are, as their name implies, brief one-week courses in which we will cover various topics such as Supply Chain Management, Environmental Engineering, and the history of our country's iconic Panama Canal.
The Course has a duration of Three weeks and amounts a total of 30 hours.
- On the first week will focus on the Management and design of the supply chain. We will see Panama in the role of an International Logistic Hub. Our country is privileged due to its geographical position and composition, which has allowed us to rank, since 2020, as THE FIRST POSITION IN LOGISTIC DEVELOPMENT IN LATIN AMERICA.
- The Second week you´ll learn about Forest Engineering in Central America: During this week, you will learn about the different types of climates, vegetation, and animals that you can find in Latin America.
- On The third and final week you´ll learn about the history of Panamá as a strategic route, from the “Camino de Cruces” Land communication route that was used in the 16th century for trade, to the construction of the Panamá Canal
Each course will be taught by an UTP expert on the field and will be graded.
How does the evaluation work?
The classes will be graded by the professors based on attendance, class participation, in-class activities, and final tests.
If you meet these requirements, at the end of the course, you will be awarded with a participation certificate signed by the director of the international affairs office.

Every week well have one, starting with Meeting my International Partner, were you´ll have the chance to have a conversation with Students from the UTP´S Japanese course, and participate in fun interactive activities.
On the second week, we’ll have an activity called Panama’s Folklore and Traditional Dances. Were the Cultural office of the UTP, will present various dances and introduce the different pieces that constitute our National Attire.
On the Final Week you will learn about Panama’s Music, our traditional Instruments and how they are made.
