Fully Funded PhD Opportunities for UTP Students at the University of Central Florida (UCF)
The International Affairs Office (OAI) of the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP) invites motivated and research-oriented students to apply for fully funded PhD programs at the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). These opportunities are open for Fall 2026, Fall 2027, and potentially for future terms.
UCF–CECS is a leading institution in the United States, recognized for its excellence in engineering, computer science, energy, robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and other cutting-edge research fields. As a result of rapid expansion in its faculty, CECS plans to onboard approximately 200 new PhD students each year, all of whom will receive full financial support, including stipend, and student health insurance.
1. Program Details & Expectations

Financial Support: Admitted students in research/support positions will receive a monthly stipend, and health insurance.

PhD Enrollment Requirement: To be eligible for these funded positions, students must be officially admitted into a PhD program at UCF through the CECS college.

Recent graduates from UTP who:

4. Additional Information
UCF will be offering virtual information sessions for international students.
Live Virtual Open Houses
CECS at UCF will be hosting Live Virtual Graduate Programs Open Houses. The brief info sessions showcase all the Master’s and PhD programs in CECS via Zoom. The application process and program specifics will be discussed:
- Masters Programs: Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM EST (Register Here)
- Doctoral Programs: Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM EST (Register Here)
* Application fees are waived for prospective students who attend either of these virtual sessions.
